Poem #7 - The Doggerel

A Doggerel Poem is very Similar to a limerick. it still has the same theme (humour) and it still retains the limericks rhyming scheme (Sort of). there is no Metre for a Doggerel Poem, but the rhyming scheme is A, A, B, B. (there is no 5th line)

here is my example (you see, my calss is very chatty) written yo my class, 8T.

One day I entered the class of 8T,
And found i owed them a fee
this fee was not needed in cash,
It was a headache, so i made a dash.

That is my Doggerel Poem, so... Enjoy! Post yours using my guidlines and see what you can do!

Poem #4- The Concrete Poem

A concrete poem is when you take any poem (yes, you heard me, Any poem) and make it in the shape of an object. 2 ways you can do this, are writing along the outline of the image, or filling the image with text.

I can't Exactly put a concrete opem into the blog as actual text, but I can put in a picture. Please not that this picture is NOT mine, and I can't take credit for it. The image is from google images.

Poem #2- The Limerick

A Limerick is a poem that is meant to be humorous, but can be any mood you want! there is no metre for a limerick, but there is a rhyming pattern; A,A,B,B,A.

Here is my example. I wrote it after a visit to the zoo to see the penguins.

I once had a penguin named Billy,
The way he walked, was really quite silly.
With a hop and a skip,
Or a fall and a trip,
We drew crowds at Piccadilly.

There is my example of a limerick. you try it out using my guidlines, and see what you can do. Post it, and show it to the world!

Poem #1- The Couplet

A Couplet is a 2 line poem, with a metre of 8, and a rhyming pattern of AA, BB, CC... so on and so forth.

Here, I made a poem comprised of a series of couplets. I wrote it about how I feel on an average class at school.

A gentle roar, it fills the rom.
Building, building, until kaboom!

A quiet child, A Saddened child,
Decides this noise is not so mild.

The anger Inside, Soon it peaks,
A clenching fist, some gritting teeth,

And then his anger overflows,
How will this end? Nobody knows?

The teacher’s playing angry birds.
The student makes of this, absurd.

He tries to calm his angered brain,
He’s spewing steam, like an old train.

He then extinguishes this fire,
And thinks, of his one desire.

Then it’s reduced to a simmer,
And then the fire grows dimmer,

The day is over, he has won,
6 hours of torture, they are done!

He heads back home and grabs a pen,
Tomorrow, he will go again.

This is an example of a couplet poem. see what you can do! post you're best, and show the world what you can do.
